You can use lead strap anchors with Autumn Wings duck decoys (we used to). We were not happy with wrapping the lead around the necks. If we tried to bend them around the keel (sleeper has no neck) we found they had slipped off and we had the dreaded “tangled anchor-line” syndrome.

By far the best anchor system for Autumn Wings duck decoys is the ACE duck decoy anchor and we strongly recommend you use it! The surgical rubber strap keeps a tension on the line as the hooked shape lead fits over the keel.

This system keeps the lead anchor from banging the duck decoy and our incidences of tangled lines are greatly reduced. The hooked-shape lead fastens perfectly across the Autumn Wings keel and that shape along with the shock absorber (surgical strap) has proven to be a good bottom-grabber in most applications.

We mostly use the 4 oz size but if you hunt big water, rivers, or leave your duck decoys out for extended periods the 8 oz. has advantages. ACE anchors are available from retailers across most of the country. Since we want to be sure they are available to ALL our customers, if you can’t find them locally buy them from us!
